Adoration Of The West: Cannot Stop, Cannot Rest, Cannot End

Yet no Indian leader gets the kind of respect that foreign leaders get in India..

Margaret Thatcher’s death unleashed a wave of grief.

Guess what? In India.

In the last 70 years, the Anglo-Saxon Bloc has gone downhill. From a position of absolute world power to being challenged by China – and now even India.

Yet no Indian leader gets the kind of respect that foreign leaders get in India.

Does it stop here?

Look at this twitter exchange here.

A simplistic reading of the tweet can be taken to mean, ‘FBI is the gold standard. And since FBI is taking time, NIA can also take time.’

Going by Praveen Swamy’s general tenor, it is not far-fetched to see what Praveen Swami implies. But for Indian chatterati, twitterati, FBookeratti, bloggeratti, hero worship of the West cannot stop, cannot rest, cannot end.

The last word.

So you have a section of society that is judging a beauty contest between two states “A” and “B”, judging their efficiency. They declare that the winner is…. (drum roll)…. “A.”

Next, you are outraged enough to blog how the judges of this beauty contest are biased, because they already adore A.

Further, I comment on this blog.

My comment here represents the fourth or even a higher order derivative in the futility of this entire exercise.

“Sunil Tripathi” was trending on twitter as one of the suspects of bombing Boston Marathon. And it was field day for all the usual suspects from anti-india gang. It would be nice if someone did an analysis of various tweets on this, giving a real insight into where their loyalties lie.

Conventions “diehard” die hard. Here we are up against the genetics which are difficult to impossible to “diehard” die hard… I am not sure of this statement, which my son said when I was writing a post on Nehru dynasty and freedom of India. Saying: Lord Mountbatten wired to his London masters, “If you liberate India now, they will be your slaves forever”!

This is just another unverified quote like the (in)famous Macaulay’s quote on which our friend Mr. Koenrad Elst also added fuel to the fire, although his (KE) intentions are reckoned by some as benign just as was Macaulay’s. I have a feeing that it will be hard to erase it.

England has left but the “English” still flurishes strong, not just survives. In this short post and message by Anurag, there are volumes said…

This behaviour is not restricted to Indians btw. Chinese, Vietnamese , middle Eastern etc all have this adoration. The decline of west is not visible to most maybe in the next 20 years it might be …Until then ….
